How to Book a Laundry Pickup and Deliver Clothes Back

Short answer

Click Book pickup on the Laundry board, choose the customer, enter the pickup address and time, and click Book pickup. The ticket waits under Awaiting pickup. When the clothes arrive, open it and click Clothes arrived — count them in to add the items and take the deposit.

For customers who want their clothes collected from home, book the pickup first. Nothing is charged until the clothes arrive and are counted.

Step 1: book the pickup

  1. On Laundry → Board, click Book pickup.
  2. Choose the customer, enter the pickup Address and choose the Pickup time.
  3. Tick Deliver back to the customer if the clothes go back the same way, and enter that address.
  4. Click Book pickup.

The ticket gets its number now and appears on the board under Awaiting pickup.

Step 2: count the clothes in when they arrive

  1. On the board, click Clothes arrived — count them in on the ticket.
  2. Add the items, descriptions and condition tags, take the deposit and save, exactly as for a drop-off. The pickup fee is added automatically.

The ticket keeps the same number and moves to Received.

Step 3: deliver the clothes back

  1. When the clothes are ready, move the ticket to Ready, then to Out for delivery when the rider leaves. The customer can be texted at each step.
  2. When the rider returns, open the ticket and complete the handover with Confirm delivered, recording the pieces delivered and any balance collected. See How to Hand Back Laundry and Collect Payment.

Common questions

Can I cancel a booked pickup?
Yes. Open the ticket and use Cancel pickup, or Delete. Nothing has been sold on it, so nothing needs refunding.
Are the pickup and delivery fees counted as sales?
That is your choice in Laundry → Settings under How fees are booked: as income, or as a delivery charge that is left out of sales.

How to Track Laundry Tickets on the Board

Laundry → Board shows every open ticket in its stage: Awaiting pickup, Received, Washing, Ironing, Ready and Out for delivery. Click the button on a ticket to move it to the next stage, use the filters to find overdue or unpaid tickets, and search by ticket number, name or phone.

How to Hand Back Laundry and Collect Payment

Open the ticket and use the Hand over form. Count the pieces going out, take any balance (by one or several payment methods), note who collected, and click Complete handover. For a delivery, click Confirm delivered instead. If the count does not match, a note is required.
