How to Read the F&B Dashboard and Reports
Short answer
F&B Manager → Dashboard shows what you hold, what is about to run out, what was used and what was thrown away, for a location and period. Reports gives usage by item, and the Inventory Report gives what you hold and its value.
The dashboard
Open F&B Manager → Dashboard. Choose the location and the period: the last 7, 14, 30 or 90 days. It answers four questions:
- What do we hold, and what is it worth?
- What is about to run out, and what should we reorder now?
- What did we use?
- What did we throw away?
Click Record usage from here to log usage straight away.
Reports
- F&B Manager → Reports: usage by item and period, with quantities and cost, so you can see what each material really costs you a week.
- F&B Manager → Inventory Report: what you hold at each location and its value.
Compare usage against sales each week. If usage of an ingredient rises while sales of the dishes that use it do not, look for over-portioning or unrecorded waste.
