How to Print Barcode Labels in SellarPro

Short answer

To print barcode labels in SellarPro, open Products → Print Labels, add the products you want, set how many labels each needs, choose your label sheet size, and print.

Before you start

You need label paper that matches one of the sheet sizes SellarPro supports, and a printer loaded with it. Both a normal A4 printer with sticker sheets and a dedicated label printer will work.

Steps to print barcode labels

  1. Open Products and choose Print Labels.
  2. Search for a product and select it. Repeat for every product you want labels for.
  3. Set No. of labels for each product — usually the number of units you have just received.
  4. Choose your Barcode setting. This must match the label paper physically in the printer; the wrong choice is why labels come out shifted.
  5. Tick what should appear on the label: product name, price, business name, and the packing date if you use it.
  6. Click Preview and check the first row lines up with the labels on the sheet.
  7. Click Print, and in your browser's print dialog set the scale to 100% — not "Fit to page".

What happens next

Your browser opens the print preview with the label sheet laid out. Nothing is saved or changed in SellarPro — printing labels does not alter stock or prices.

Tips

"Fit to page" is what breaks label alignment. Browsers shrink the page by a few per cent by default, which is enough to walk the barcodes off the stickers by the bottom of the sheet. Set the scale to 100% every time.

Common problems

The scanner will not read the printed barcode

Print at 100% scale, and do not let the barcode shrink below about 2cm wide. If the printout is faint, the label printer's ribbon or the toner is low.

Labels are printing in the wrong place on the sheet

The barcode setting does not match the paper. Measure your labels and pick the setting with the same number per row.

Common questions

Can I print labels for products that do not have a barcode yet?
Yes. SellarPro generates a barcode number for any product that has none, and the label prints with it. Scanning that label will then find the product.
Do I need a special label printer?
No. Sticker sheets in an ordinary printer work well for most shops. A dedicated label printer is worth it once you are printing labels every day.
