How to Keep Selling When the Internet Goes Off
If the internet drops while the POS is open, keep selling. The screen shows OFFLINE MODE, sales are saved on that device with a receipt, and they are sent to SellarPro automatically when the connection returns. Pending Offline Sales shows what is waiting.
A dropped connection should not stop the queue. If the POS screen is already open when the internet goes off, you can keep selling.
While you are offline
- The POS shows OFFLINE MODE.

Offline: keep selling. The sales go through when the connection returns. - Finish sales as usual. Each one is saved on this device and prints a receipt marked Offline Mode - Will sync when online.
- Drafts and quotations are saved on the device as offline drafts.
When the connection comes back
The saved sales are sent to SellarPro by themselves, and the screen shows Back online! They then appear in your sales list with their real invoice numbers, and stock comes off.
To see what is still waiting, open Pending Offline Sales. Force Sync sends them straight away.
Do not clear the browser's history or site data on that device until every pending sale has synced. Offline sales live in the browser until they are sent.
Good to know
- Offline sales must be sent from the same device and browser that took them.
- Stock is not checked while offline, so a product can be sold past zero. Any shortfall is recorded, so you can investigate it.
- If a sale is rejected when it syncs, it stays on the device under rejected sales with the reason, so you can enter it again by hand.
Common questions
Can I open the POS for the first time while offline?
