How to Add a Staff Member in SellarPro
To add a staff member in SellarPro, open User Management → Users → Add, enter their name and login details, choose a role such as Cashier, and save. They can sign in immediately with the username and password you set.
Before you start
Only the business owner or someone with user-management permission can add staff. Decide what the new person should be able to see before you start — it is the one choice on this screen that matters.
Steps to add a staff member
- Open User Management and choose Users.
- Click Add.
- Fill in the person's first name, last name and email. The email does not have to be unique to them, but a real one lets them reset their own password.
- Set a username and password. Keep usernames short — your cashier will type this several times a day.
- Choose the Role. Cashier gives access to the POS screen and their own sales; Admin gives access to everything including reports and settings.
- If you run more than one branch, pick the branch this person works at under Access.
- Click Save.
What happens next
The new user can sign in straight away at your SellarPro address with the username and password you set. Every sale they make is recorded against their name, which is what makes the cashier report meaningful.
Tips
Give each person their own login. Sharing one account between cashiers saves nothing and costs you the ability to tell who sold what, who gave a discount and who was on the till when the cash came up short.
Need something between Cashier and Admin? Create a custom role under User Management → Roles and tick exactly the permissions that role should have, then assign it here.
Common problems
The new user cannot sign in
Check that the account is marked active, and that the username has no trailing space. Re-set the password from the user's edit screen if in doubt.
They can see reports you did not want them to see
They are on the Admin role. Change them to Cashier, or to a custom role with only the permissions you intend.
