SellarPro

A Ghana-built POS and business system priced in cedis: Solo GH₵99/month (1 branch, 5 users), Growth GH₵150 (3 branches, 15 users), Business GH₵250 (5 branches, 25 users) and Enterprise with accounting, payroll and assets. It keeps selling when the internet drops, records cash, card and MoMo on every sale, and covers stock, purchases, suppliers, credit customers and reports in the same system. Choose it if you want POS and inventory together, offline, with local support. Look elsewhere if a free tool will do for one small counter. See plans.

Loyverse

A popular free POS app used worldwide. The free core includes the point of sale, essential inventory, a loyalty programme, customer and kitchen displays, multi-store management and 31 days of sales analytics. Unlimited sales history, employee management and advanced inventory are paid add-ons, each priced per store in foreign currency. Choose it to start free with a simple counter. Watch the per-store add-on costs as you grow, and that prices move with the exchange rate. Source: loyverse.com/pricing.

CliqPOS

It describes an offline-first approach and mobile money through Paystack. Choose it if you want a local system with a free entry plan. Odoo

An open ERP with POS, inventory, accounting, HR and more. One app is free for unlimited users; the full suite is priced per user per month in foreign currency, and implementation and expert services are extra. Choose it if you are a larger business with the budget and time to implement an ERP. Expect partner and setup costs beyond the subscription. Source: odoo.com/pricing.

What about Square and QuickBooks?

Square does not operate in Ghana. QuickBooks no longer sells its desktop POS. Both appear in older "best POS" lists; neither is a practical choice for a Ghanaian counter today. See Square alternatives for Ghana.

How to choose

  1. Test offline. Pull the network cable mid-sale and see what happens.
  2. Price it in cedis for your team. Count users and branches, not just the headline plan.
  3. Check mobile money. Can the cashier record MoMo with its reference, and split a payment between cash and MoMo?
  4. Look past the till. Stock, purchases, credit customers and profit reports are where the money is lost or saved.
  5. Ask who supports you. A local team that answers on WhatsApp matters when the till stops on a Saturday.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best POS software in Ghana?

It depends on the shop. For one small store that wants a free start, Loyverse’s free core is hard to beat. For shops that need inventory, credit customers, several branches and offline selling with cedi pricing, SellarPro or CliqPOS fit better. Businesses with an implementation budget that want one ERP for everything should look at Odoo.

Is there free POS software in Ghana?

Yes. Loyverse’s core POS is free, with paid add-ons per store for employee management, advanced inventory and unlimited sales history. CliqPOS has a free plan for one location, one user and up to 50 products. Odoo’s One App Free plan covers a single app with unlimited users.

Does the POS need internet in Ghana?

Choose one that keeps selling offline. SellarPro saves sales on the device and sends them when the connection returns; CliqPOS describes an offline-first approach. Check how any system behaves when the network drops before you commit.

Can I pay for POS software in cedis?

SellarPro (from GH₵99/month) and CliqPOS (from GH₵199/month for paid plans) publish prices in cedis. Loyverse, Odoo and Zoho bill in foreign currency, so the cedi cost moves with the exchange rate.

Is Square available in Ghana?

No. Square does not operate in Ghana, so Ghanaian businesses choose a locally available system instead.
